Recent developments at Juvare have enhanced EMResource automatic update capabilities. A new application programming interface (API) eliminates the need for manual updates by pushing data updates from other solutions, such as electronic patient care reporting (ePCR), health information exchange (HIE), electronic medical record systems (EMRs), patient accounting systems, and state licensing systems, into EMResource.
EMResource is a resource management solution that equips healthcare and emergency response practitioners with practical, convenient, and holistic operational views of area, regional, and enterprise-wide resources that range from individual beds to entire facilities and from trailer caches to helicopters.
When tragedies, diseases, and public health crises occur, healthcare facilities, emergency medical services (EMS) agencies, and government entities rely on EMResource for situational awareness. The EMResource solution offers the tools needed to monitor and query current asset statuses, bed availability, service capabilities, and alert and engage constituents, partners and coalition members in both daily and emergency medical response operations. This new offering automates updates to ensure the availability of up-to-date real time information.
Hospitals and Emergency Departments (EDs) use EMResource to display and monitor facility resources. Given the current situation, with the explosion of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a potential use for the new API includes automatically updating bed and ventilator availability based on the system of record at the healthcare facility that is sending the data to EMResource.
Juvare has long promoted the exchange of data using APIs.The addition of the new inbound interface provides even more robust and flexible data sharing options.
Automating previously manual processes, such as updating bed availability, ventilator capacity, patient census, inventory levels, and NEDOCS (National Emergency Department Overcrowding Score) calculations streamlines day-to-day workflows and greatly improves accuracy. The interface can be fully customized to accommodate various sources and types of data.
Consider taking advantage of this new offering to facilitate your expanded COVID-19 data collection needs. Work with a Juvare Client Success Manager (CSM) for assistance implementing automated updates in your EMResource solution.
Juvare is committed to supporting Public Health and Emergency Management agencies with preparedness, response, and eventually recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tens of thousands of organizations use Juvare healthcare solutions such as EMResource, EMTrack, eICS, WebEOC, and Juvare Exchange not only to facilitate compliance, but also to improve healthcare resiliency and efficiency, and facilitate informed decision making during a crisis.
EMSupply is also a key component of the COVID-19 response, helping ascertain supply availability, in particular PPE and other assets commonly needed in support of seasonal flu and respiratory illness. EMSupply is being used to manage and track both consumable and durable supply inventory – such as caches and distribution of N95 masks, gowns, and gloves, as well as managing the maintenance and tracking use and distribution of assets such as ventilators, PAPRs, and other equipment. EMSupply is proactively alerting users when critical thresholds (such as resupply and par levels) are met, and when preventative maintenance is due.
