Exchange19 Offers an Inside Look at New Orleans You’ll Never Forget

Juvare’s Exchange19 conference will have a definite New Orleans flavor, with fun and fascinating networking activities that are unique to the Crescent City.

The off-site activities will be of particular interest to those curious about the city’s famous Mardi Gras events, and also to incident management professionals who want to see up close how the City of New Orleans uses technology to disseminate information to first responders, assist in criminal investigations or support other incident activities.

Never been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras? On Tuesday, May 7, the first Exchange19 outing will transport you to an authentic Mardi Gras experience, allowing you to see all the hard work and planning that goes into this the unique and festive event. At Mardi Gras World, you’ll learn its fascinating history, see how floats are built, try on costumes, meet with artists and even enjoy some famous King Cake.

Want to see where the action happens? Exchange19 attendees are in for a real treat for our Wednesday May 8 off-site experience, as we’ve been given access to tour the City of New Orleans Real Time Crime Center. You’ll see first-hand how the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security (NOHSEP) operates the 24/7 Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), leveraging technology to provide critical information to first responders in the field and to assist with investigations of criminal activity or quality of life concerns. The state-of-the-art facility opened in November 2017 and was modeled after best practices in public safety monitoring across the globe.

Operations at the RTCC support all public safety agencies in New Orleans, including the New Orleans Police Department, the New Orleans Fire Department, New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS), and NOHSEP. A few examples include:

  • Real-time & investigatory information for officers responding to a crime
  • Traffic information for emergency vehicles during special events
  • Situational awareness & investigatory information during life-threatening emergencies
  • Investigatory support for reports of illegal dumping and other quality of life issues
  • Real-time information on flooding and other hazards during storms

Network with your colleagues while immersing yourself in New Orleans culture and experiences you won’t get anywhere else! Admission to both outings is included with your registration.

At Exchange19, you’ll sharpen your skills with cutting-edge methodologies, technologies and best practices that will energize and better equip you to do your job.

Due to high demand for Exchange19, capacity has been expanded for all sessions. Discounted room rates at the InterContinental New Orleans end April 22, so make your plans today.
