Modernizing Nevada’s Volunteer Registry: How SERV-NV Upgraded to CORES RMS

Nevada’s SERV-NV program, the state’s emergency health volunteer registry, manages hundreds of credentialed volunteers across local MRC units, search teams, and behavioral health organizations. Built to meet federal ESAR-VHP standards, the program requires rigorous vetting of every volunteer, including credential verification, training records, and background checks priorto deployment.

When Nevada migrated from Juvare’s legacy volunteer management platform to CORES RMS, Tabatha Hart, SERV-NV’s Registry Coordinator, identified a critical gap early in the process: administrators needed a reliable, export-ready report that could be pulled quickly in an emergency, even if systems went offline.

Working closely with her Juvare Client Success Manager, Hart submitted a detailed field-by-field specification early in the migration timeline that shaped the platform’s new custom export feature; Hart put it simply: “I wanted a report I could download, save in files, print, and place in a secure location, and just have it if I needed it.”

This reporting tool — made available not just to SERV-NV, but to all of Juvare’s CORES RMS clients — allows administrators to configure a default export with the exact fields they need, in their preferred order, and save it as a reusable template, replacing a legacy export that gave administrators every field in the system whether they needed it or not.

Describing the sustained impact this has had on her team’s operations, Hart notes, “Our MRC admin has been scheduling missions nonstop pretty much since the site went live, and she’s getting a lot of people coming in and wanting to volunteer for whatever event she wants to run.”
