With nearly 20 years at Juvare and over two decades working with WebEOC, Brad Pond is a name synonymous with experience, dedication, and deep knowledge of emergency management technology. But Brad’s journey to becoming a leader at Juvare is just as compelling as the work he does today.
A Journey Rooted in Service and Innovation
Brad hails from North Augusta, South Carolina, where he graduated high school before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. From 1991 to 1997, he served as a submariner aboard the USS Pittsburgh, including time as the onboard rescue diver. His service took him across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and through critical waterways like the Panama and Suez Canals, even visiting locations still classified to this day.
After his military career, Brad returned to South Carolina to start college and build a family, eventually stepping into the world of emergency management technology. He began at ESi in 1999 as a junior project manager, armed with just enough HTML knowledge to land the role. At the time, WebEOC ran on Netscape and Internet Explorer 4.0—technology that was cutting-edge then but is now a relic of the past.
Following 9/11, Brad transitioned to Westinghouse, working on Homeland Security expansion before returning to ESi. Over the years, he witnessed ESi evolve into Intermedix and later transform into Juvare, remaining a cornerstone of the company’s expertise throughout each phase.
A Passion for Emergency Management and Technology
Brad’s tenure at Juvare has taken him to 49 states, working with some of the most impressive agencies and emergency response professionals in the world. One of his most unforgettable experiences was training the Bomberos (firefighters) along the Mexican border. While WebEOC training was the mission, the unexpected sight of .50-caliber machine guns mounted to Toyota trucks—guarding the facility from the cartel—was a reminder of the real-world stakes that emergency responders face daily.
Beyond his professional contributions, Brad is a passionate historian of the company. He even authored The History of ESi, a hardback book chronicling the company’s early years. Though it may not have made bestseller lists, it serves as a vital reference for the company’s evolution.

As a die-hard Clemson football fan, Brad has held season tickets for years, cheering on the Tigers whenever he can.
