Hurricane Laura – List of Information and Resources – Updated

Hurricane Laura, which has now weakened to a tropical depression, dumped rain over the state of Arkansas late Thursday and early Friday morning.

Hurricane Laura made landfall Thursday morning, as a Category 4 storm with 150 mph sustained winds, near Cameron, Louisiana about 45 miles south of Lake Charles.

At least six deaths in Louisiana are blamed on the storm.  Roughly  520,000 are without power in Louisiana, as well as nearly 200,000 in Texas and nearly 50,000 in Arkansas.

Although the storm has weakened, there is still the threat of flooding in many areas over the weekend as the storm is expected to dump rain in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky.
