Hurricane Zeta: Resources and Information

Hurricane Zeta is continuing to strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico and is anticipated to make landfall in Louisiana later Wednesday.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Zeta has grown into a Category 2 storm, which is stronger than was initially anticipated. The storm is expected to move into eastern Louisiana, south of New Orleans, and then into western Mississippi on Wednesday afternoon, bringing life-threatening storm surge, flooding rainfall, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.

Weather-related threats will also move inland with dangerous winds reaching across the southeast U.S. and severe gusts across the southern Appalachians on Thursday.
