Background in Emergency Management:

I began my career in Emergency Management in 1979 with the Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency. I started as their Communications/Warning Officer, then was promoted to Assistant Director, then was appointed Director. We were WebEOC client #4. We signed the contract to purchase WebEOC just before 9/11. Our first use of WebEOC was on 9/11. I joined ESi in 2005 to head their newly created Services Division. I have been working with WebEOC ever since.

What Do You Love Most About Your Job?:

Hands Down – Working with our clients. Our tools help people do their jobs better while planning for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies, disasters, and special events. It is rewarding to hear stories from clients of how WebEOC, and our other tools, contributed to the success of their operation.

Why Juvare?

Juvare Cares – about their clients, their employees, and the community. During the Exchange19 conference last May in New Orleans, employees and clients packed school supplies into backpacks for school children in the New Orleans area.

What is the Future of Emergency/Critical Incident Management?:

The use of technology will continue to grow and play a significant role in the Emergency Management field. Specifically, predictive models will play a critical role in how we mitigate, plan, respond and recover from all types of emergencies and disasters (i.e. wildfires, floods, landslides, and hurricanes).
